How I Work With Clients

I currently work from a feminist/systems-oriented approach while integrating narrative and interpersonal process frameworks and interventions in effort to provide a space of agency and healing for clients. I believe the clients are the experts of their life lives, and I work hard to understand how the role of culture, power, and privilege in the client’s life as well as how these concepts manifest in the therapeutic relationship. From a feminist/systems-oriented perspective, I support help clients in developing insight around personal, familial, and societal scripts and “should” statements that may no longer be adaptive. From a narrative framework, I use a variety of tools particularly from trauma-informed narrative and emotion-focused therapy to help clients identify emotions and practice new ways of relating to their bodies. Finally, from an interpersonal process theory framework, I attend to client’s relational patterns and offer a space for corrective emotional and relational experiences.
